Oxford MFE vs. MIT MFin

I have seen the discussion before on this topic, but would like updated thoughts on this. Particular questions:

  1. Reputation of Oxford vs. MIT worldwide. Any difference in brands?

  2. Difference between Master's in Finance vs. Financial Economics. Are both seen as practical finance degrees?

  3. Misc: Post-Employment outcomes, cost of attendance, quality of student body, etc. Anyone have thoughts to add here?

Thanks!

I think MIT is stronger especially for markets side. Program is demanding but will give you shoots everywhere! Whilst Oxford is also very strong, MIT gives you better exposition in either markets or IBD.

I'd go for MIT's MSF

And from my personal point of view, I'd pick Oxford only for computational finance or mathematical finance

I'd say MIT is the better program, but both have a globally recognized brand. If you are a US citizen and want to work in the US, I'd say go with MIT. If you are international and are OK working anywhere, then Oxford might win out, but I still think the material MIT teaches, the reputation and location would all make it the winner.
