Past what rank is an institution a diploma mill?
I would say any institution ranked sub-100 worldwide, or sub-10 in the country qualifies as a diploma mill, meaning a graduate from there is equivalent to a high school graduate.
Does anyone disagree?
Not sure if this is necessarily rank related. Some very reputable schools have used their reputation to create numerous degrees (including multiple types of accounting & finance degrees with slightly different nuance but overall similar content) to maximize the number students / revenue. I won’t say any names but you know which ones I’m talking about. Those are still diploma mills despite overall prestige.
UIUC’s iMBA is a diploma mill. 3,000 students and pathetic admissions requirements
