Portfolio Analyst to MBA
Hi Everyone,
Currently I have been working for an investment management/wealth management firm as a portfolio analyst-> research analyst. Think (Hall Capital, Pzena) but just a tiny bit smaller. We work with HNW, UHNW, and Institutions.
-6 months commercial banking (different company)
-2 years portfolio analyst work was mainly preparing client documents, reconciling accounts (same)
-1.5 years research analyst (same)
Gpa is 3.1 GMAT I have not taken but I assume I need a 700?. Passed level 2 CFA. Do I have a shot at the top IM schools. I want to start my own fund one day but I want to go to get an MBA because I am from nontarget and could use the network to move to a bigger more brand name company. But also I just want a different experience and to learn more academic investment strategies and have some fun through the way.
-my college EC's are top notch
-post grad EC's are are pretty good as well.
-how should i craft my essay?
-do I have a chance?
Wait - are you a doctor, portfolio analyst or a corporate banker?
