Profile evaluation - which schools to apply?

26 yeah old white male. State school 3.4 gpa in finance. 3.7 major gpa Estimated gmat 680-710

I worked full time while in undergrad and took care of a sick parent. Now have an additional 2 years of experience in financial sales. I have taken the lead on many projects at work and have strong letters of recommendation.

I am looking to transition to either banking or S&T. Schools I’m looking at are: -UVA -Michigan -Duke -Cornell -UNC -Tepper -Georgetown

Are these within my reach? Are there any others I should be considering.

Candidly, I would look at the median GMAT score for a lot of your schools and begin there. I think you may face some headwinds applying to some of the programs at the top of your list given the statistics of their incoming classes and your work experience, background, etc.

If your company is well known or you can hit 730+, I think the schools at the top of your list become more reasonable. You should add McCombs, Owen and Olin too. YMMV.

Except for UVA and Michigan, the average gmat for each school is 700 or below. I am interested in Owen as well. My company is a well known MM.

I like your profile assuming you can hit a 700. I would encourage you to take advantage of schools with open interview periods as well (i.e. Darden, Fuqua).

Meet with these programs, express sincerity and interest in the schools and crush the GMAT. Best of luck.
