Purdue MSF

I have been researching the MSF program at Purdue quite a bit recently and it has me intrigued. Seems like there might be potential to land an Investment Banking or Real Estate job in the midwest (or Chicago in particular with it being only a couple hours away) once I have completed the program and it's a huge advantage that it'll only take 10 months. I think I would have a reasonable shot at getting into the program (as opposed to any MBA program due to my lack of full-time work experience) as I have a competitive undergrad GPA for the program (it is higher than the mean GPA for the incoming class this fall). I think it'll largely depend on how well I do on the GMAT. Is this a good route to go if I am late to the game and will be graduating in December from a large (non-target) state school? Any input would be helpful!

sorry, it's an engineering powerhouse and IU Kelley probably takes the lead in real business placements. Chicago is not that easy of a place as you thought, through just a MSF. U of M, IU, MSU, Purdue, U of I and Wisconsin are all competing with the Chicago, Northwestern and IIT UICs in town.

Not sure what admission materials fed you a bunch of grandiose endeavors (they always do), but you may get a real taste with the salary reports.

Thanks for the input. I've looked into a few of the schools you mentioned above and came to the conclusion I might not have much of a chance at getting admitted to the ones I did look into (depending on my gmat score). Having said that, I'll probably look into the others. But even if I do get admitted to Purdue and choose that school, don't you think it'd put me way ahead of where I am now (being just a graduate from a large state, non-target school)? Or do you think I'd really be wasting my time and money?

I still say check, or compare salary reports. Recall NPV of projects, which basically says you count the cost of project against its future incremental cash flow or the extra satisfaction you may get (same pay forbetter job etc).

You can ignore time value as you wish, but living expenses will arrive up front whilr you earn zip for MSF

That makes sense. Do you know anything about the IU online MSF program? Just curious as I am trying to do some research and am having trouble finding much of anything (besides the deadline, courses, and some older class profile stuff).
