Quant Profile?

Hey all,

I'm a current senior in undergrad thinking about applying to 2+2 and similar programs. I'm worried about my quant profile and was wondering if I could get some questions answered.

I'm an Economics and English Literature major (Business minor) at a top ten university. My overall GPA is a 3.68, and my GMAT score is a 760 (49Q/44V). I have a 3.24 GPA in quantitative classes (i.e. economics, finance, math, data science, etc.). I worked last summer in analytics and am starting at a T2 consulting firm (LEK/OW/ATK) after graduation. Does this quant profile present an issue for M7 admissions? The quant GPA includes two freshman year Cs in math and a freshman year C+ in accelerated economics.

Thanks so much.

Having read applications for ~10 years, I would first look at your overall GPA (solid) and your GMAT Q score (solid) and stop looking. I wouldn't be combing through your transcript to see that you performed poorly in quant classes 4 years ago. By the time you start an MBA program in 3-5 years, you will hopefully have several years of progression in consulting with hands on analytical work. At the end of the day, admissions wants to know that you are adequately prepared for the quantitative rigor of their program. There isn't anything in your profile that would give me pause. Since your applications will be evaluated holistically, you will also need to demonstrate leadership and share a compelling narrative that clearly articulates why you will be pursing an MBA.
