Real Estate Certificate

I currently work for an originator as a treasury
analyst and assist on the capital markets side when needed. I'm thinking of pursuing an online CRE certificate and then getting an MBA. I think this approach is the best option for me since no schools near me offer MSRE degrees but super interested in CRE and don't want to leave my current company. I'm currently looking at Baruch or NYUSPS for the certificate. Is this a plan worth pursuing? My current company would probably help assist with some of the costs.
