Series 79 Prep Course Review: The Securities Institute of America
I have been using their s79 prep course over the past ~24 hours and am very disappointed. The last straw for me today was seeing WRONG answers to a couple of their section-quiz questions. I am concerned about proceeding with this course given multiple errors/discrepancies, as I could end up learning wrong information and likewise fail the actual exam. Thus, I am posting here to warn others to avoid The Securities Institute of America and to use another Series 79 prep provider such as Knopman, or STC, even though they are ~$600.
The videos are mid at best; the instructor hardly explains financial concepts but just reads off of a prompter without explaining the why or working through something by hand. The slides referenced in the videos are hard to follow and very sloppily produced, so lack clear structure. The overall site UX is poor as well. I used Achievable for the SIE and 63 and Achievable was far superior with their UX, format, and dashboard. The Securities Institute of America seems to have quickly, sloppily produced this product to churn out free cash flow in perpetuity, without consideration for creating a quality product. They do have a guarantee where if you pass their "Greenlight Exam" and fail the real exam within 5 days, they refund you. I think I will go purchase Kaplan even though they do not have a guarantee since its $210 price is low compared to others and since I must pay for it myself.
I found no other reviews of this product so wanted to be the first. Good luck to those out there studying for the 79!
