Should I go for an MBA?

I am a 29 yo scientist, worked for 3 years after my PhD. Now I am considering doing a MBA hoping to break into consulting. I currently manage a small team of scientists (6-8 ppl).

I did my undergrad and PhD at a OK school but not a target/semi-target. Do you guys think I should go for a MBA/ will get accepted by a decent MBA course?

Are you trying to do consulting in an area in line with your PhD? I would think an MBA is not necessary. Have you looked at the recruiting channels for MBB for PhDs? I think most seek out PhDs in some cases. I think you could get there without an MBA. After having a PhD already, I think you run the risk of just appearing to be a degree collector and doesn’t make sense to go in your case
