Should I join Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society?

My situation is that I'm currently a graduating senior at a Big 10 school with a signed job offer already (BO/MO rotational program at a BB). I keep getting emails to join Beta Gamma Sigma from my school, but the fee to join is $115. Is there any possible benefit to joining - the only thing I can really think of is listing it on a b school application. My GPA will likely drop a lot at the end of this semester so I likely will not receive latin honors - does this make it worth it to pay $115 just to list that I graduated with some kind of honors on a b school app?

Not worth it. Don't pay your money. The point of college is to get a job. Some unknown credential/club won't impress MBA programs.

I realize it won't necessarily make or break an application - but BGS is actually known within business - it's basically the Phi Beta Kappa for business school students. Literally every top b school has a chapter for it so I'm just concerned that having no honors of an kind may be a negative on a b school app (albeit a minor one).

It may be something that matters to other people who applied to BGS. I have been out of college for ~15 years, worked at two BBs and now run my own company, and I have no idea what BGS is. I have interviewed hundreds of people over the years, and when I look at resumes I search for a few things and ignore the rest (priority depends on how long someone has been out of school):

  • Companies worked at and role
  • Continued title progression
  • School, major and GPA
  • Personal interests to see if we have anything in common

what value add does the fraternity provide? is it just a validation that you get good grades? couldn't they just look at your GPA? Don't get caught up in that b/s, no one cares.
