I'm going to be a sophomore next year and i was wondering whether I should take calculus 2 or settle with a lower level math class..Although I got an A on clac 1 am worried about my GPA. Since I just transferred, my GPA is starting from 0 and I don't want to risk starting off with anything less than an A-.. On the other hand, I don't want to avoid the class just because it may be a little difficult..
I plan on getting an MBA in the future.. Would they care that I took a lower level math class after having taken clac 1
And would potential employers see that also?
Employers won't care. Business school will look at your quant GMAT score as a better reflection of your ability, because by the time you will be applying for your MBA you would have been in the workforce for a few years. That said, take the class if you want to take it and you have an interest in it. Seeing as you're shooting for an MBA, I imagine you're not aspiring to do any quant heavy trading or anything so...
Yes, I don't plan on going into anything quant heavy.. Since business schools will focus on the quant GMAT score I'll worry about that more than calc 2

Well OP I'll put it this way.....
In my Calculus 2 class we started with 20 people, keep in mind this is a state school, by the second week it was down to 12. The second week it was down to 8 and third week down to 6, the class would end with 6. The highest grade was a 59% I had third highest witha 53%.
I ended up with a B. Now, Calculus 3 I got a 93% (2nd highest grade in class) with about 21 people only one person droped.
To the idiots saying calculus 2 is easy they are morons.

I doubt any professors at your school will be as hard as mine(we had to write paragraphs explaining are strategy on solving problem and all the homework assignments were from back of chapter so they weren't easy etc )
So, no if you have a professor that is as of an asshole as the one I had you class will be living hell and by far the hardest class you ever taken in your life.
i took the more challenging calc class that wasnt required and ended up learning a lot more useful things than the people in the minimum required course. also it was an easy A
Can't you Pass/Fail this class? I remember in undergrad we had an option to Pass/Fail where you could take the class and if you failed you would simply end up with a W (withdraw) that wouldn't affect GPA.

after calc 2 every math class is shit easy.
