Rice or UT would be exponentially better. Not sure on UH placement. I went there for UG and plan on rebranding myself next year with an MBA.

Rice gets crazy respect out in the Houston area; SMU is still building a rep; UH not even in the picture right now (no offense to anyone)

SMU definitely. UoH has no rep, especially when compared to other schools in Texas. These are facts. It's pretty absolute.

Now whether you would get more value from attending UoH versus SMU is subjective

breakin_ingeez haterz...

I'm going to UH MBA and had no problem "breakin_in"

I'd sure love to hear your story if you're willing to share.

There's not much of a story...went to Tier 2 school (also known as non-target in WSO lingo) and worked at a regional bank here in Houston. Worked hard/networked and landed a job as a credit/market risk analyst for a large M&T shop in town...all in about 2 years.

No offense, and not to be a douche, but that is not considered breaking in on this forum (IB, PE, S&T, HF). BO and MO are relatively attainable from any university, assuming you did well.

OP, If you aspire to work FO, I would try for Rice or UT. SMU as a last resort as it is still a somewhat respectable school.

Oh, this I know and no offense was taken...my point is that I think that a UT/Rice MBA vs. UH MBA has about an even playing field...at least here in Houston (from what I have seen).

thanks, fellow monkeys

I'm not going for any of those professions, so I guess SMU is my best option.

However, if I don't go into those 3 professions, will my salary be high enough to justify almost 120k in debt after graduation? Just curious
