Travel a lot. I made a lot of my best friends / formed my core social group through people I met on trips. Worth going even if you don’t know the people well at first as it’s a great bonding experience.

What do you mean by traveling here? Wouldn’t you only go on a trip if you know the people you going with?
No, there are lots of trips that will be going on simultaneously with relatively open invites mostly. You just need to know one person vaguely enough to get invited along.
Since you in a class setting and in a group environment, it will be natural to meet almost everyone. I am guessing (don't know), that you are all in a similar age group as well.
Do all the things older adults barely do - celebrate birthdays, go out to clubs, pubs and restaurants, have fun together, travel, help each other and more.
