Stay at University of Miami or Transfer to Vanderbilt Undergrad
I am a current freshman at the University of Miami (UM) majoring in Finance and I was recently accepted to Vanderbilt University as a transfer. I would be majoring in economics instead of finance and I was wondering if IB firms care about the difference in major.
I understand UM is only a target for citi and Vanderbilt is more of a semi-target in general for finance firms. On the downside, I would have to repeat a semester because not all my UM courses transfer over and there are not as many opportunities to intern at firms in Nashville as in Miami.
What are people's thoughts? I would appreciate a little guidance.
You can probably transfer the absolute 101 courses but it'd be worth it if you don't pay too much more after the extra term
University of Miami is great if you're already rich or an athlete. I would transfer to Vandy. UM is great for Private Wealth careers, but who wants to do that? Vandy would give you better opportunities at recruiting for banking.
