Stern vs Ross vs Brown (have to make the decision in the next day)

I’ve basically ruled out Ross, as I just don’t think i could live with myself knowing I picked Ross over an Ivy and Stern even if it’s much more fun, just bc of the lower pedigree. You can call me a loser, I don’t care.

With stern it’s close enough to brown in pedigree and the placement is much better, especially since I’m not going in expecting to be mediocre. Most people in-industry (around my dad’s age, so 40-60) recommend each pretty evenly (50/50), but most people who say brown don’t really say much beyond “it’s an Ivy.” I also don’t see many people from brown at the top top places, almost 0 across the top 6-8 seats that I want to target, and while brown has pedigree, I have a really hard time seeing myself getting into these roles when there is no network at these firms, and there is a HYPSMW kid that has won the same pitch competitions etc that wants it tooe. I definitely am favoring stern for this reason, and having visited both campuses. I kind of just wanted to sanity check my reasoning here. Thanks

Brown for sure. You'll be able to get the opportunities that you want, it's more a function of less interest in finance at Brown v. Stern (but FWIW I think Brown alumni in finance pull harder for their own as a result). Your college experience will be much more enjoyable being at Brown with a chiller class than it would be a Stern with a bunch of hardo gunners. Since the academics at Brown are more flexible too, if you're really set on finance you can try to use the extra time to do in-semester internships if you can find places willing to have you be remote (or maybe at Boston-based firms where you could go into the office occasionally)
