Target and semi-target Meaning
I know what Unis are the targets and semi-targets so please don't start a debate as there are so many posts for that. What I wanted to know is what Target and Semi-targets actually mean in the UK. From reading a bit about it online and on WSO I came across these 2 definitions.
1) Targets basically send more people into IB and semi targets send comparatively less (pretty obvious)
2) Target Universities are basically targeted by every single bank in the city and all of them come and do presentations at these universities. Semi-targets are targetted by only some Banks but those banks that do come to campus consider them as target unis for recruitment.
If someone has a clear idea about this it would be really helpful if you could provide some clarity. Thank you.
The only point that matters is point 1. This is representative of two factors: rep of uni and amount of people applying from a given uni.
It's easier to get looks from a target than a semi or non. That's all that really matters.
