Target School Advantage vs. Money Advantage
I am currently attending a non-target state school, but it does have a few select organizations that do a really good job at getting its members into the industry (IB, trading, management consulting). I'm thinking about switching schools in the near future to more of a target/semi-target. My question is this: would you rather break into IB from a non-target state school and risk being discounted for MBA Admissions? Or would it be better to go to more of a target/semi-target + pay more money while having an edge in regards to B-school admissions?
I have no idea whether or not I would want to - or even need to - attend B-school in the future, but I'm just trying to get a grasp on my prospective opportunities. Thanks.
