Target School Candidates are no Longer Strong
Been doing a lot of interviews the past year and have been noticing an interesting trend - the “target” school kids are getting completely blown out of the water by the traditional “non targets” candidates.
I’m not sure what’s going on recently. Don’t know if it’s tech or PE taking all the top talent, but school name seems to not matter at all anymore. Kids are woefully unprepared and getting dominated by state school kids for IB spots.
These kids come into interviews and can’t even run me through what goes into a kick off materials deck, what inflation is currently, or even the basic steps of an M&A process.
