Tech Corp Finance vs. P-Banking Analyst
After graduation, I have an opportunity to work at a top tech company (think Yahoo, Microsoft, Amazon) in a financial analyst role.
I also have to opportunity to work as a Private Banking analyst for a BB.
My goal is to get into a top 10 MBA. Ceteris paribus, what role would be more impressive for a B-school app?
Tech Corporate Finance. Everyone is doing banking and plus, what you got at BB is Private Banking, not IBD positions.
I hope it's not Yahoo. That company is in shambles.
That said, he'd be right in the middle of whatever happens - potentially great facetime with whoever gets the restructuring mandate.
I know a few guys who were around Lehman when it went, and rose within BarCap very quickly.
Crisis is an opportunity - especially when you're young.
Tech company (ESPECIALLY IF ITS MSFT), if u want to go to a T-10 B. School
yahoo is about to take a massive restructuring charge...sure you want to work there...
