I am not very familiar with TFA but I think going into Big 4 will help you more to find a good job following your MBA:
For the admission, yes probably TFA sounds better.
I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.
Do what you want to do. The key to MBA admissions isn't a specific career path, it's excelling in what you do. People tend to excel in the areas that interest them most.
From a recruiting perspective once you get to school I don't think you'd be disadvantaged if you went the consulting route. There are several people in my class with education/teaching backgrounds who were able to land internships. As for high finance, that's a tough route for anyone who doesn't already have analyst level IBD or high finance experience before coming to school. I'd say whether you do TFA or Big 4 you'll have to take a few additional career steps before breaking into high finance.
Moral of the story, don't plan your life decisions around the MBA. It will work itself out.
I don't know about you, but if I were a socioeconomically disadvantaged high schooler, I probably wouldn't take well to a teacher with no actual passion for teaching and who's only interested in teaching as a stepping stone to another career.

I enjoy teaching, but the pay deters me from making it a career.
Thanks for the responses so far!
