Even though I've been a long time member here and frequently view the site, I've very rarely posted on here because frankly I don't think I'm as smart as many other members. I've enjoyed many of the threads here, and though I've disagreed many times, I'm not one to be confrontational or antagonistic enough to get into online arguments. Don't get me wrong, I admire those members who are willing to put themselves out there at the risk of starting a 100 versus 1 argument, as I have learned many things from those discussions that have helped me discover and refine my own beliefs. So I'd like to extend a thank you to all the members who have helped me in my career. I'll keep my "success story" brief, but I've been working in a boutique IB for the last four years in Chicago, and all the input and comments on this site have helped me immensely at various points throughout my short career. I recently was accepted into Cornell's MBA program, this after being waitlisted but ultimately denied at Booth last year. I knew I was probably a borderline candidate there, coming from a state school, 700 GMAT, and 3.5GPA. I took that rejection ok, but it could have been a lot worse if I never knew of the struggles and success stories of many members of this site. I'm happy going to Cornell even though it's not in the top 7, but honestly 95% of the people I deal with don't know that, nor would they care. Prestige is nice, but it's probably more important to make the most of the opportunities we get. I don't have the unquenchable urge to join a mega fund or any of the exclusive opportunities afforded to H/S/W, but even if I did, I know if I killed it at Cornell then I'd at least have a fighting chance. I guess that's all we can ask for.

Cornell is a solid place, I think you should be super proud of yourself. Congrats man. And give yourself some more credit...you don't sound like you have a lot of confidence saying "i'm not as smart as people here". There are many individuals on this site that haven't or couldn't break into IB, much less get into a good MBA program. So give yourself some more credit, attitude is everything.
I'm an idiot and I post alllllll the time. Obviously there is no correlation between intelligence and activity on this site, so embrace WSO and be my friend/enemy.
