This is the HR guy DESIRE to be a monkey

I have been in corporate world for 6 years after undergraduate. I was in Unilever and Dow Chemical, two very big but different global organization. My profession was HR, a downside in many people's eyes; however the not-too-downside is I was hired as the elite in HR to do strategic projects, almost like internal HR consultant. In HR world, I was like a thunder carrying all the exceptions: quick promotions, good package, close with business, sharp problem solving etc...but, it's time to change.
Before going to b-school, I would like to seek possibilities/options I have to make a total switch to banking: HF, MF, IB, PE. I plan to take CFA Level One this June. Maybe it is the first case in this forum that some HR guy want to go to banking at close to his 30. But, I really think I belong to this business by my energy level, high achiever driving force and workaholic life style.
Appreciate opinions, especially from those who having the same career change before. Go MONKEY!

Thanks for the suggestion. May I ask if HR background a bias as negative impression to b-school? I worked very closely with executives and leadership team on many people management and organization change projects, however, I don't find many HR people going to b-school and switch to banking. Don't know if there's any untold myth around...

Yes, I am applying. Then I must think carefully if this is the way leading to a career reset; or specifically, if the reset is able to get me closer to hedge fund management (this is the one I want to do most). Do you have any suggestions? Thank you senior monkey!
