Tips for strenghtening application for MS Finance program

As the title says, I need to make my application better to get admitted to an MS Finance program. I'm a senior undergraduate studying journalism/PR and I want to pursue a career in investor relations. I have work experience in the journalism field but no experience in finance, other than classes from my minor in finance. I applied for an internship related to finance but received a rejection today and I don't know what to do. Any tips would be appreciated!
