Too late for target school engineer to break into 2026 IB SA?

Currently a sophomore biomedical engineering student at a target (3.9 GPA) who recently had an epiphany and is now interested in an investment banking internship. The problem is—I've only just started applying/networking and it's almost March. I know the cycle isn't technically over yet, but is it still feasible for me to get something decent? I've already applied to a decent amount of big names and have been setting up calls with alumni, but I'm wondering if its worth putting in the work if my fate is already sealed.

Also interested in applying for management consulting so wondering if I should focus on getting a headstart on that process instead. Thanks!
