Is it worth however 1. more happiness/better social life 2. better weather 3. better campus but 1. worse "name brand"? 2. smaller alumni network 3. west coast seclusion Would appreciate any insight.

Career Resources
If you want to work in finance, stay at McCombs. No brainer especially when considering their programs like Wall Street for McCombs and recent placement into NYC IB and PE.
Looking at CMC’s LinkedIn, it seems like they place more students net and per capita into PE/HF even in NYC. Their accelerated finance program seems to have a better curriculum and professors as well.
Since I’m currently at UT, I’m aware of our placements but many of them are diversity or BHP, and there are a lot more people from McCombs who either don’t want ti break in or have trouble breaking in without connections.
Of course, high finance isn’t guaranteed from either school — and I’d argue it may be easier from CMC due to better overall academics/less competition.
It sounds like you've already made up your mind, and it sounds like the reasons behind why you want to go are more personal rather than career-oriented. IMO, do what makes you happiest in college! It's supposed to be the best 4 years of your life, and if you feel miserable at UT then that's how you feel.
Yeah I figured if it was personal reasons for me (which it feels like that’s the case) I’d only create an echo chamber for myself. I do feel some inertia about leaving UT but I was never fully integrated into the student body to begin with. I’m still really unsure, but if the cost/sticker shock was less it’d be a lot easier to digest and make a decision.
