Why don’t more students do this? Risks? If you have IB offer, it seems like an easy decision if you don’t like your semi/non-target university.

Transfer application takes a lot of work
i mean most people have friends at their university or join a fraternity and thats pretty hard to just up and leave
College is some of the best times of your life and making new friends and trying to reestablish your social life is difficult.
More importantly the process for transferring is very annoying and difficult. It’s like the high school process all over again. You would also get a late start to join school clubs and organizations, as well as restart networking with your new schools alumni.
