UChicago vs. Penn CAS

yea so i got into these 2 as a transfer. majoring in CS and compbio at penn (I can shoot my shot for a dual degree at Wharton but it's a gamble) and computational applied math/CS at uchicago.

not really interested in IB. Moreso prop trading or working at a VC firm in silicon valley.

I think I'm leaning Penn because a) it seems like more of a chill / grade-inflated school b) warmer weather and c) generally more prestigious.

However, I also see that uchi is a recruiting mecca for quant firms. Not too sure about what going into VC is like at either school though. My question is whether uchicago is better for the career paths I'm interested in than Penn CAS and if so if it's a landslide or splitting hairs.

Thanks

Currently a student at penn and our CS classes are known to be difficult, but I’m sure UChicago is probably worse. Let me know if you have any specific questions about penn or transferring to wharton (my best friend is dual degree between CAS and Wharton), happy to help.

thanks. I am somewhat interested in doing a dual degree but would you say that it would help at all for going into quant? I’d have to graduate in 5 years with the cas/Wharton dual degree so it’d be a big jump
