UC’s vs UIUC vs Cal Poly vs SCU
ok so I have to make my college decision soon, and I want to work in tech IB in the Bay Area I am stuck between the following:
Santa Clara 60k UIUC 50k CS+Econ UC Irvine 30k CS UC Davis 30k CS UC Santa Cruz 20k CS Cal Poly SLO 15k CS
I really don’t want to got to SCU because it’s rlly close to home, and I don’t want to go to UIUC because it’s cold and I want to work in sf. both of them are also expensive(I would need to take out 10-20k a year in loans to go to them ), but if they significantly improve my chances at IB I’ll go there.
in terms of banking for tech IB, you’ll get the best exposure at SLO and SCU. it’s going to be a grind and you’ll need to outwork target kids but it’s doable. but looking at the absurd price disparity between go to SLO for sure. good growing banking cultures at both schools
so irvine and davis arent as good for tech ib then?
uiuc comp sci is ridiculously good so if you can swing it it might be the best move in general
nvm deleted he’s in a diff situation
cal poly has good cs recruiting, my freshman friend who goes there got a internship at google for this summer
