I'm giving you harsh but truthful advice because I was once in your shoes. I'm assuming you're finishing your senior year of high school? Spend your time this summer understanding what each of those roles actually do, because the day to day tasks of those jobs are quite different.

Be true to yourself and ask, "Why finance?" If your goal is IB, crossing out Ivey just because "You don't like it" would be incredibly foolish because in terms of both US/Canadian IB placements its #1.

Waterloo places incredibly well for Canadian buy-side(think OTPP, CPPIB) and many first years get great work experience through co-op(friend is at Deloitte consulting this year). Do take note that the work-load in the UW DD program is extremely rigorous and you can expect your high school 90's calculus mark to drop to the 50s if you're lucky.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
