What are the initial reactions? I’m surprised at how many “Institute of Technology” schools are on the list.
Also don’t MS me for just being a messenger. These are not necessarily my beliefs.

“Maybe the goal of WSJ is to just expedite the inevitable implosion of college rankings. The list actually gets more ridiculous as it goes on. For example:
• 51. UC Berkeley
• 55. U Chicago
• 64. Rice
• 67. Brown
• 76. UCLA
• 77. Wesleyan
• 83. UNC Chapel Hill
• 84. Bowdoin
• 89. University of Virginia
• 99. Johns Hopkins
The above 10 colleges were ALL outranked by
• New Jersey Institute of Tech
• Thomas Jefferson University
• University of La Verne
• University of Utah
• University of Detroit Mercy
• Cal State Northridge
• Marquette University
• Drexel University
• Michigan State
• UC Merced
Then you have NYU #166, Vassar # 284, Tufts #287 and other absurdities but I can't even waste more time on WSJ”
Not to crap on those schools, but we can all agree that UChicago and La Verne are not on the same level.
They supposedly added “value” or something like that to the calculation, but you have notable state schools getting reamed, so not sure how it was calculated.
Nothing to get too excited about, people always have agendas - the only rankings that matter are the rankings in your heart.
