Wall Street Reputation of the following schools and how likely will I get a IBD job if I go to one of these schools?
I'm currently a high school sophomore deciding on which colleges to apply to. Even though I have lived in the United States for a while, since I'm not a citizen or a permanent resident, colleges consider me an international applicant which therefore puts me at a disadvantage. However, I have "narrowed" my list down to these colleges and I was wonder other than HYPSM what is the reputation of the other colleges and how likely am I to get a job on Wall Street if I go to one of those colleges.
1) HYPSM, Wharton
2) U Chicago, Columbia, Duke, Cornell
3) U Michigan, U Berkeley, NYU
4) Carngie Mellon, UCLA, UVA, Rutgers
5) U Illinois, USC, RPI
*edit* Upon "MBAGrad10"s suggestion have made amendments to the list
Most of them should give you a legit shot, but I'd remove Rice, CalTech, Georgia Tech, and UCSD from your list.
Curious as to what the "M" in HYPSM stands for? Is it Mharton?
Probably MIT.
Yes. That would certainly make more sense.
Not sure why Wharton isn't on that list.
As a high school sophomore you should focus on your grades, SAT scores and EC's. Based on that you will know where you stand a chance. Also, there may be other schools where Wall Street firms go to recruit undergrads (like Penn State, Stevens, Villanova etc which may not have the brand equity of the names you mentioned in your list)
Just my 2 cents :)
