what will be my post MBA options

hey, so ive posted a few times on this board about career trajectory adivce and for the most part, the advice has been helpful so ive come back again. I'll be applying to top 10 mba programs in the next few weeks/months and from what ive asked around on here and elsewhere should be competitive for what im aiming for. my question is where I should be focusing on post mba. ive spen 2 years in S&T and what will be 2 years at a large AM firm in portfolio management. Ideally, ide like to take the portfolio management experience I have and work at a hedge fund or even buy side analyst like role at a firm similar to the one im at now. The thing is while I work in what my firm calls the portfolio management group, I don't really get much exposure to any of the research skills/modeling that I feel would be required to work at HF post MBA. (role is more execution and trading based, reports, presentations, running optimizations...) My question is would the experence I have now be enough to land at a HF if i were to say get into a value investors program at Columbia or something of the sort? I am working on building the skill set on my own and netowrking with research analysts here but would it matter if these "hard finance skills" werent part of my day to day function. Lastly and thanks for any replies, would starting my CFA this year help in the search if I already plan on doing the MBA (getting a lot of mixed responses to this one).

Reason I ask is bc im also interested in S&T roles post MBA (even if its sales) and want to know if I should be focusing more on that (and forgetting the CFA) if you guys think the HF route will be too tough to crack. Thanks a lot
