What's my chance + Will deferred program harder for me?

I am a rising senior, straight Asian male, at T10-15 school studying math. My background is a 3.8 GPA, internships in T2 consulting and S&T in BB. Currently interning at my school endowment fund ($10+ billion) and will likely to get a return offer. I'm still going to recruit for 2024 FT jobs. I assume I'll get 730+ on GMAT since I study math and did fairly well on ACT and SAT (36, 1550). I'm aiming for M7 (my dream is Wharton, but realistically Booth or CBS).

I talked to one of my mentors and she told me that I'll have a better chance in regular admission after working for 2, or 3 years than if I apply to deferred admission next year because deferred admissions generally target people with a bit of untraditional background. But, I have a very traditional background: Asian male, a math major, in finance.

What's my chance @ M7 and is deferred admission harder? Should I work first and then apply for regular admission in 2, 3 years?
