When do GPA, school brand, and resume quality actually matter in SA recruiting?

For Summer Analyst recruiting, at what stage do things like GPA, school brand, and how strong/well-written your resume is actually get considered?

Do they mostly matter during the online application screening step, or do they still matter later on?

Also, if you get an internal banker referral, is it basically an automatic first-round interview, or can you still get filtered out based on your GPA/school/resume?

Once you’re already in interviews, do those factors still matter, or is it mostly about how well you answer interview questions (technical + behavioral)?
