Would it make sense to apply to Bschool?
Background - Graduated from a t50 school and worked in IB for several years. Was laid off almost a year ago and took some time off to reset. Now wondering if it makes sense to apply to bschool or grad school to pivot to a different field
If I choose the edu path, I would most realistically start school around this time next year if I can get into a good program. Would this make sense to do, and would the gap in employment be a negative factor or an area of concern given that it would be about a 2 year gap by that time?
Say you were to join an mba program, what would you want to do afterwards?
Not sure yet, maybe asset management or equity research as a few ideas
Are those fields that would be difficult to move into coming from an ib background?
Not sure, haven’t gotten too many responses though for roles in those fields
I would assume most people would move to pe or cd after IB. Would going to mba help you get into those fields you mention if you already have a corporate finance background?
I wanted to clarify the timeline - I was under the impression that it would take several months to possibly half a year, to get all your stuff ready to apply to a school.
If you're just starting now, by when would you be able to send in an application / would that be too late for you to qualify for class of 2025?
