Yale moves to M7? Goodbye CBS

I just looked on US News and saw that they updated the rankings. I saw that Stanford got knocked to third, Yale moved to the number seven spot, CBS and Berkeley got moved to the number eight spot, and Booth rises to the number one. Anyone surprised?! I’d love to hear everyone else’s input.

I didn't go to b school since I was already at a PE firm I liked but I don't think anyone hangs their hat on the annual rankings. They recognize the names of the top schools immediately and unless you're really going for a crazy role that requires Harvard or Stanford only, nobody cares. Just like nobody cares about IB group rankings across the street, unless you're a prospect in which case you make entire career decisions based on what someone posts on WSO

Take US News MBA rankings with a grain of salt. Universally, people in finance will recognize GSB, HBS, and Wharton as 1, 2, and 3 in that order.

More and more people are choosing GSB over HBS now.

Cross admit data:

GSB (60%) vs HBS (40%)

HBS (73%) vs Wharton (27%)

Wharton (84%) vs Kellogg (16%)

Wharton (68%) vs Sloan (32%)

CBS (62%) vs Booth (38%)

CBS (61%) vs Kellogg (39%)

CBS vs Sloan has too little data (but it was about 66% vs 33% in favor of Sloan)
