Yale Silver Scholars Program
Thoughts on the Yale Silver Scholars Program? Figured it might be semi-controversial since its designed for graduating seniors to transition immediately into MBA, but still makes time for a solid internship.

I am not familiar with the program so I can't comment, but looking at how they describe it, it looks a lot like the French Grande Ecole programs, like HEC Paris. First-year basic curriculum, 2nd-year internship(s) and then you do electives and start working. However, I know that it works well in Europe, but I am unclear how this is perceived in the states? I was under the impression that people go for MBA programs after working 2-5 years on average and not straight out of undergrad?
Same here, that's why I am worried that despite it's prestige it may not be looked at so favorably by employers. Especially in IB when you may be overqualified to be an analyst, but under-qualified to be an associate. But then again I guess if you work a full year-long internship thats essentially the equivalent of 3 internship cycles so maybe they feel okay moving you up to associate? Who knows
Analyst programs tend to be 3 years long. I doubt that any bank will hire someone after a year long internship to join as a full-time Associate.
I know several people who got full-time IB Associate offers from the program, but it is very difficult.
I've been considering it too - though I have limited chances since I attend a semi-target European university and have an average GPA. You won't become an Associate after that; you'll work as an Analyst for a year and then most likely come in as a 2nd year at most.
Matrick I can't seem to find the HEC right-out-of undergrad MBA you're talking about. Mind sharing a link? Thank you.
