I think it depends on how open the firm is when it comes to internal mobility. Compared to investment banks, physical trading shops are typically much more open to letting people move around to different roles within the company. I could possibly see going from Demurrage Analyst -> Scheduler -> Trader, but you would need to bust your ass at every step. If you do a half assed job in demurrage, then they'll never give you a shot at trading.

If you had no other job prospects and you think the company would allow you to apply to other roles in the future, I think it's worth a shot.

Good luck.

Depends on product, firm and your own ambition.

Demurage analysis is pretty much BO work but if you kick ass/network, you could make it to scheduling and eventually trading.

Chances are that you might have to go through BO (Settlements and etc) before you make the leap.
