Advice for athletes and internships

Im currently a Junior at a non-target state school and my goal is to break into trading. I'm a Division One athlete and from what I've heard, it can be very favorable on Wall Street. My GPA is okay but nothing spectacular (3.3). I'm currently looking for a summer internship but am having trouble hearing anything back. My fear is that since I lack work experience (only job I've had is at the family business) and not involved around campus (aside from athletics) that I will be looked over every time. With 30+ hours a week of training it makes it very difficult to fit other groups into my schedule (due to class or practice). My main fear is that I won't get an internship this upcoming summer and be completely screwed going forward. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any suggestions on what to do? Thanks in advance.
