I interned and was dangled an offer in one of these seats. Can someone with ball knowledge answer this question? I really liked Structured Products, but didn't know what could lead to HF exits. I also wonder if y'all think it's better to sell or trade in this space?

Overall I found the pace, size, and competitiveness really interesting, but am also looking towards HY credit or rates

almost certainly better to trade in this space. maybe an argument for origination at the analyst level, but above that, trading is certainly better. Much more specialized space than rates vol, but exits to hedge funds occur. I think the best banks for exits sort of rotate around with how much risk appetite the teams have, but hopefully someone with more knowledge should chime in.
