Do you guys know about it? What do you think?
I found the link on marketfolly which I think is an amazing page.
Anybody some insights?
If I understand it correctly the page allows you to invest into HF portfolio replicates that have been built according to latest sec fillings (im new to this whole finance thing so please correct me if i am wrong)
sounds very interesting.
Sorry if this is rather a topic that should be under the Hedge fund label
It's pretty cool but not really useful if you just want to replicate the portfolios. You obviously only see the positions which HFs disclose, which can grossly misrepresent the fund's actual portfolio. Furthermore, that info might be three months old and the upside of any particular position might already be gone. However, if you try and reverse-engineer why a manager made certain bets, you could learn a lot.

You can see exactly what the hedge funds are buying/selling with some delay.
Sorry stupid question but when do they have to disclose? Over x% right?
13Fs are quarterly reports of HFs' 200 largest positions. They only apply to funds managing over $100 mil. There's a list of securities that must be disclosed in a 13f per the SEC.
Also, you can figure certain positions out through 13Ds, which investors with 5% of a company's equity must file.
thanks
