applying for full time ques.

I'm finishing school in December and hoping to work in January (or some time this winter). I'm from a non-target, but have some pretty good relationships with a few bankers. I have sent them my resume and they said that they could probably get me an interview, however I must apply online and then HR will flag my resume. For several banks, the full-time undergraduate positions within ibanking/S&T are not available online at this time. Just mainly operations analyst type roles.

So my question: Does it matter which position I apply to? or is it just important for HR to receive some sort of application to get me in the process?

Also, my contacts mentioned it may work to my advantage that I can start in January as opposed to the summer. Any truth to this?

I hope you're not talking about BBs, because they're done recruiting. Do NOT apply to any posting besides the ones you want to do. If these jobs truly exist either A (most likely) they will be posted online or B) they will not be posted online and your contacts forwarding your resume will be sufficient.
