Applying to a job at my firm's prime broker

I'm thinking about applying to a job at my firm's prime broker. Will this come back to haunt me? The role is not within the prime brokerage business, but I'm worried that our client coverage might alert my management or something like that. I'm at a hedge fund in New York and I know we're a very profitable client.
