BAML - Quartz group

I had an internal referral at BAML and recently received an offer to be placed on the Quartz team as a summer. I don't know if I should go for the position. The concerns are, 1. i heard the Quartz is building the trading platform; however, i'm a math major, and totally don't want to go for a programming role. 2. i want to go for trading. however, the deadline for the role is approaching and i messed up a few interviews with some trading firms. will it still possible for me to make a transition to trading roles after i join the group? also, i heard BAML isn't really a good place to work for.

The Managing Director that I will be working with was also a math major and worked at GS as a strategist for 10 years and went to BAML last year. Thanks guys. I have been very frustrated recently.

If things haven't been going well with other trading firms, I doesn't sound like you are in the position to turn down any opportunity to break into a bank's trading operations. Ask around and see if anyone has made the transition to trading from the team you'd be working for.
