BB S&T Assessment Centre

I have a top tier BB assessment centre coming up. The email noted that there would be a group exercise and an individual case study presentation. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what these two would entail, what kinds of questions to expect, the format etc.?

Thanks a lot!

From my experience interviewing at BB S&T in HK, for the individual case study, you're given 20-30 minutes to analyze 3 investment ideas and then you'll present on which idea is best and why given the current environment. The interviewer will ask a couple of basic follow up question -- nothing too difficult. For the group exercise, you're split into groups of 3-4 and given a task that you need to work together on while 2 interviewers watch your interactions. Be proactive, engaging, and enthusiastic.

I feel like I know which BB you are talking about (PM if you want to make sure), but if it is then its the following:

Group exercise:

You are each given a title in a company (i.e. CEO of F500, CFO, head of marketing etc), then you have 20 mins to decide how to spend a 10m usd budget. Basically have to try both convince everyone to give you the money, but at the same time if you feel there is generally better solution then quickly switch and show you can work as a team player. Basically be a leader but at the same time respect everyones opinions BS. If you feel that giving you the money isn't the best option then quickly establish a lead by siding with someone else and try to convince people to give them the money.

Case Study:

You get 15-20 mins to read a 10 page report on a corporate, then put together a presentation on the strengths and weaknesses. Make sure to go past the analysis in the report you are given. Most kids that didn't do well in this just really summarised the report, make sure to go a couple steps past it.
