depends.... americas or emea
also depends on asset and product, but I think Citi has the broadest coverage of EM (on the markets side), they are also in some very frontier markets. HSBC is also strong, but especially in Asia. You also can't go wrong with JPM.
Yep sorry...very vauge first post, looking at EMEA specifically and more within the multi - asset side (I know JPM's EM desk is multi - asset for example)

US Banks Specializing in Emerging Markets? (Originally Posted: 08/26/2011)
Hello everyone,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any U.S. based banks that specialize in M&A advisory or equity raising for emerging market companies, specifically Eastern Europe and Western Asia. I came across Nova Capital Partners out of NY, but it's been near impossible to contact them. Any ideas on other firms?
Thanks!
HSBC. They are specifically focused on emering market transactions and deals.

I have a friend who is interested in getting into emerging markets finance but doesn't know much about it. what are some groups at GS or elsewhere that would be good areas to start a career in that area? (eg. trading, advisory, research, PE...)
just looking for some general ideas on what kinds of work banks do in emerging markets ... thx
