BO Employee: Move to FO or take BO overseas role
Hello, currently I am a 2nd year analyst in a BO Product control role at a BB Bank. My main career aspiration is to break into an S&T role but I have recently been presented with a pretty unique opportunity.
I've been offered the opportunity to take a job overseas in the UK, doing essentially the same work I've been doing the past 2 years under the assumption I would continue to do well (top performing analyst) and earn associate this cycle. That being said I think this would hinder my ability to pursue an S&T role, as I would be sort of bound to this product control role. On the other hand traveling internationally sounds like a once in a lifetime experience, and I would hit the associate mark quicker.
My question here would be, is the opportunity to travel internationally something that shouldn't be squandered and I should jump on, or since I'm relatively early in my career and since my overall goal is to pursue S&T should I forgo the international opportunity and continue to pursue opportunities in an FO role.
Really I would appreciate any commentary on the above: tips, advice, criticism, skepticism...
Thanks for your time, -Floyd
