Breaking into S&T Off Cycles

Feel a bit lost on what to do. I am a final year undergrad at a target (Oxbridge) in the UK and going on to do a Masters in Finance (LSE/Imperial) next year. I have previous internship experience at a Hedge Fund, Executive positions in the university Investment Club, and now going on to a BB Wealth Management internship but have realised that I want to work in S&T after this year's application season.

How competitive would I be for S&T Off-Cycles if I applied during the year of my Masters? Would it be valuable to do the AmplifMe Summer Analyst programme which includes a S&T week which would give me direct S&T Experience which I could mention in my CV?
