career services guy on the S&T job market

Yesterday I talked to a guy who works at the alumni career services of my alma mater. I wanted advice because I currently work at a small hedge fund and wanted to make the transition into a S&T desk at an i-bank. He told me that from talking to people at these firms, hiring for sales and trading jobs is almost non-existent. He said things will most likely improve next year and that i should try looking then. Otherwise, he told me I should get an MBA at a top school, so I can go through campus recruiting, which will make the process a lot easier.
