Cold call for a Trading position

Hi. I am trying to cold call for a Trainee Trader or Trader Assistant position. I am not sure which department should I ask the HR to redirect my call. Should I go for Trading & Sales or some specific desk eg: Equities ?

And i heard that its better not to call the trader when the mlarket opens ..

youngmonkeyObviously calling when market is open is not a good time to call a desk. Use your head man. If you cold call don't ask for a desk, get a name.
yes, i know. i have mention this above.

ychu066any idea of what shd i say ?
If you don't know what to say, you may not be cut out for sales, yet. Think about why they want to hire you. When you can answer that question very succinctly on your own, and you're not being totally delusional, I'm pretty sure you'll get be able to land a job in institutional sales.
are traders more friendly than bankers ?
BAHAHAHAA!!!! NO. :D

Sales guys, algo guys, and quants are more friendly.

i am from hk, i doubt about cold calling in asia countries but i will give it a try very soon once i get a list of firms that i want to call.
